Skybell Video Doorbell Cameras
Our take
The Skybell HD sends motion-triggered mobile alerts when someone’s at your door – even when they don’t ring the doorbell. You’ll be able to see and speak to guests, view live footage and take photos of the activity happening at your door using the Skybell mobile app. This doorbell comes with Silent Mode, free video recording and an activity history. It’s easy to self-install and comes in two finishes to match your home’s design.
Stand-out features include
- Silent Mode
- Free video recording
- 10-second motion-activated sensor and instant alerts
Our take
The Skybell Trim Plus is a slimmer video doorbell for your home’s design. You’ll get many of the same features from the Skybell HD including Silent Mode, free video recording, two-way audio and motion-triggered alerts. But, the Skybell Trim is designed with a few other doorbell specifications for your home. This doorbell camera includes multi-color LEDs for color night vision and an LED indicator light for guests to easily spot your doorbell in the dark. It’s still easy to install and works with multiple device users, just like the Skybell HD.
Stand-out features include
- Color night vision
- Weather and rainproof design
- Free video recording

Skybell Monitoring Plans
Currently, Skybell doesn’t offer any monitoring plans for its doorbell cameras. You’ll have to self-monitor your home’s activity, but you’ll be able to use two-way audio to speak to guests or scare off intruders with the Skybell mobile app.
Skybell Installation
Skybell cameras are designed for easy installation using your traditional doorbell’s existing wiring. Their installation guide walks you through how to connect your doorbell to WiFi using the mobile app and how to securely mount it outside of your home. A compatibility and pre-installation checklist is also included to make sure you have everything you need before set-up.
Skybell Mobile App
You can see what’s happening outside your front door using your mobile device and the Skybell app. When your doorbell camera detects motion you’ll get motion alerts. From the app, you can see what’s happening and record motion-triggered clips to playback later. You’ll be able to control your doorbell camera’s settings, and see and speak to guests – all from the mobile app.
Skybell Theft Protection Guarantee
If your Skybell doorbell camera is stolen, they’ll replace it for free. Just provide Skybell with a proof of purchase and a filed police report for your replacement. Keep in mind that Skybell will charge $19.95 for shipping and handling.
