Nest Cameras Storage Plan Cost

You can get cloud storage for your Nest camera with a Nest Aware plan. You’ll be able to access features like cloud storage, intelligent alerts, activity zones, and more. New users can choose between Nest Aware for $6 a month and Nest Aware Plus for $12 a month. Older users can continue with their existing plans, but we suggest upgrading to the new plans if you have more than three cameras. Generally speaking, the new subscriptions are more affordable than the previous ones.

Nest Camera Installation

Nest cameras are designed to be easy to install. Just plug your AC adapter into a standard wall outlet, mount or place it anywhere you want, and finish set-up using the Nest mobile app. Google also has a library of videos and instruction manuals available. But, if you prefer professional installation, Nest has Nest Pros to set up your cameras if you buy products directly from the Google store. The cost varies by location and Nest Pros are independent contractors.

Nest Camera Warranties and Guarantees

Most Nest cameras come with a two-year limited warranty. Keep in mind that if you buy a refurbished Nest camera you’ll only have a one-year warranty – even if it’s installed by a Nest Pro. With the warranty, Nest will repair or replace defective equipment, or offer you a refund.

Nest also has a 30-day return policy if you’re not satisfied with your camera for a full refund if the camera is in its original condition.

Our Take

Nest cameras are a great option for users who are looking for state-of-the-art features and smart home compatibility. As of now, Google Nest offers an array of products, such as video doorbells and smoke detectors, that can serve to create your custom home security system. We also love that plans for cloud storage are on the cheaper side compared to other providers. Nest cameras are great for people who plan to self-monitor with reliable, high-tech cameras.

However, it is important to note that Nest isn’t exactly a home security system. Nest’s offerings resemble safety add-ons for your smart home rather than an actual home security system. If you’re interested in professional monitoring, you’d need to subscribe to Brinks.
