What Does Nanit Breathing Wear Do?

Nanit Breathing Wear comes in two soft fabric options – a swaddle and a breathing band – for infants up to 24 months old, or up to 30 lbs. Each one is specially printed with a simple geometric pattern. Once your baby’s wrapped up and placed inside the crib, the Nanit Camera/Smart Baby Monitor can read the design to track baby’s breathing.

With the Nanit app, parents can keep a live eye on the crib and receive important notifications like movement or irregular breathing. The app also tracks sleep quality metrics and uses an AI algorithm to provide parents with personalized care suggestions based on their baby’s habits.

Be aware this type of monitoring is primarily intended to promote parent’s peace of mind. Breathing Wear is not a medical device, nor is it a protection against SIDS or a replacement for an attentive, caring adult.

Based on Nanit’s reputation and the quality of their other products, we are cautiously optimistic that it will work as advertised. After all, the Nanit Plus Smart Baby Monitor is first on our list of the best baby monitors. Nevertheless, Nanit’s products are very tech-forward, with a price point to match. The Nanit Camera and Breathing Wear might be perfect for connected parents (you do need both to track the baby’s breathing) but a more traditional non-WiFi option like the
