- 24/7 continuous video recording with a Nest Aware subscription for security cameras
Google Nest offers stand-out features like the ability to use voice commands, and facial recognition with a Nest Aware subscription. Through Google Assistant (and even Amazon Alexa) you can issue voice commands to manage smart devices like Nest cameras, the Nest Hello video doorbell and Nest thermostats.
If you want to arm or disarm your Nest alarm system, you can issue voice commands through Google Assistant. Simply say, “Hey Google, set Nest Secure to Home and Guarding” when you’re on your way out the door. One advanced feature that you’ll find with Nest is facial recognition. Your Google Nest alarm system will be able to tell strangers from family if you opt into a Nest Aware subscription. You can get this feature with the Nest Hello video doorbell, Google Nest Cam IQ Indoor camera and the Google Nest Cam IQ Outdoor camera. Nest Aware subscriptions range from $5.00/mo. – $30.00/mo., and offer various additional features.
The new Nest Aware Plus Plan ($12/mo.) provides 10 days of 24/7 continuous recording. This means that your camera will always capture what happens before and after an activity that might warrant your attention. In addition to activity alerts, you’ll also be able to view a continuous timeline to see the footage that’s been captured. The old Nest Aware plans (5-Day, 10-Day, and 30-Day) still offer continuous recording as well.
