Frontpoint Security was founded in 2007, and the company aims to keep families safe through simple yet smart home security solutions. One differentiating factor about Frontpoint is that the provider has DIY, or do-it-yourself, home security systems. DIY home security systems can be better for customers who are on a budget and want to avoid contracts and installation fees. With Frontpoint security systems, you’ll have access to cellular monitoring, locked-in monitoring rates, geo-location services, Crash & Smash protection and more. We share some of the costs you’ll need to consider if you’re interested in purchasing a Frontpoint security system.

Frontpoint Security Costs to Consider

  • Equipment Costs: With Frontpoint, you can choose from five home security packages: the Starter Package, Everyday Package, Home Plus Package, Select Package, and the Preferred Package. These range in price from $255.96 - $479.90 with a 20% discount (to access this promotion, please mention it to your Frontpoint representative over the phone).
  • Monitoring Fees: You can choose between two professional monitoring plans with Frontpoint: the Interactive Plan or the Ultimate Plan. The Interactive Plan costs $44.99/mo. and gives you access to a cellular connection, mobile alerts, remote access of your system and smart devices, and more. The Ultimate Plan costs $49.99/mo. and provides you with access to all of the features found with the Interactive Plan, plus live video streaming, motion-triggered alerts, light control, smart lock control, and more.
  • Installation Tools: Certain Frontpoint equipment may require tools for installation. Frontpoint has User Guides available on their website that you can check through to ensure you have the tools you need.

How Do Frontpoint Costs Compare to Other Home Security Provider Costs?

Compared to other home security providers, Frontpoint costs are about average to expensive. Frontpoint packages aren’t as inexpensive as SimpliSafe or Abode packages when considering the more basic packages. Frontpoint monitoring is also a lot more expensive than SimpliSafe or Abode monitoring. Yet, despite the fact that Frontpoint’s systems and monitoring is a little more expensive than some DIY competitors, it’s worth noting that the provider does have geo-location services, which allows you to create custom rules for your security system and smart devices.

Frontpoint also has Crash and Smash protection, which is designed to prevent intruders from getting away even after they’ve destroyed your control panel. A Frontpoint monitoring specialist will dispatch the authorities if he or she detects that your system has suspiciously been disconnected. We recommend Frontpoint if you’re looking for a DIY security system that is easy to install and features smart home capabilities. In our Frontpoint review, we give the provider a 7.2 out of 10 as our recommended pick for the most customizable home security solution.
