Is Frontpoint Right for You?
Cost: Frontpoint packages range from around $300 to upwards of $600, making them competitive to other mid-range providers. Professional monitoring is provided with all Frontpoint packages. There are two monitoring plans, the Interactive Plan ($44.99 per month) and the Ultimate Plan ($49.99 per month).
Contract: Frontpoint no longer requires a contract for service.
Wired or Wireless: All Frontpoint security systems are wireless, allowing for simple installation and moving if need-be. Monitoring is provided via a cellular connection (no landlines needed). Most devices are peel-and-stick, and the video doorbell is the only device that requires any wiring.

Frontpoint does not offer professional installation options, but most customers don’t report any trouble with the set-up process. With the exception of the hub, keypad and cameras, almost all of Frontpoint’s equipment is wireless. Fewer wires and thoughtful design make these devices easy to install. The Preferred package is Frontpoint’s most robust bundled equipment selection, and it’s an ideal starting point for larger homes that need more protection. This package comes with two motion sensors, five door/window sensors, a smoke/heat sensor, and indoor camera, and signage for $599.88. Note that a slightly more expensive monitoring plan is required to access all of Frontpoint’s video streaming and storage features.

Using Frontpoint
Once you’ve set up your Frontpoint system and have it armed, if your alarm is triggered or the sensors are tripped, a monitoring specialist will be notified and will reach out to you to verify the alarm. If needed, the authorities will be contacted and dispatched.
Frontpoint uses Alarm.com’s mobile app, which has a 3.5 star rating in the Google Play Store and 4.5 star rating in the Apple App Store. You can arm/disarm the security system, lock/unlock doors, set up lighting schedules, and much more with the mobile app. With both Interactive and Ultimate monitoring plans, you’ll have mobile app access. Home automation features are only available with the Ultimate plan.
In the event you need to repair or replace any Frontpoint equipment, you’ll have access to a three-year limited warranty.
