The MSA Safety Works Multi-Purpose Respirator has been designed to have the widest application of any half mask air purifying respirator on the market. The respirator's HEPA (P100) portion of the cartridge is effective at filtering out toxic dusts such as lead, asbestos, and even certain biological agents such as anthrax. The patented chemical cartridge portion of the respirator removes odors from certain organic vapors as well as adsorbs certain gases such as ammonia, chlorine, formaldehyde, hydrochloric acid (muriatic acid), and chlorine dioxide. The patented facepiece features a special nosebridge area for improved comfort and fit. Additionally, the dual material body is flexible to better fit users. Special bayonet type filter attachment points eliminate the need for gaskets while allowing the cartridges to be flared out of the line of vision. The low resistance exhalation valve is centered to allow superior communication through the respirator facepiece. A cradle-style upper headband helps assure a more secure fit.
