K-Gr 3--This easy-to-read title presents the basic rules of water safety in a pool, in a lake, and in the ocean. The author advises swimming lessons and the use of sunscreen. There is instruction on what to do if someone is in trouble in the water--"Reach or throw, don't go." Each double-page spread has a relevant color photograph on one side and text on the other. The print is large and a few words are highlighted with phonetic spelling in parenthesis; these words also appear in the glossary. This is very similar to Kyle Carter's In Water (Rourke, 1994), but the text is more precise.
